Currently, Ahmed bin Khalid Al-Thani serves as the Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan in Riyadh, overseeing diplomatic and consular affairs within his jurisdiction. In this role, he works closely with Afghan community members, Saudi authorities, and relevant institutions to ensure effective consular services, strengthen bilateral engagement, and uphold the dignity and representation of Afghanistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
2023 – Present
The Consulate General in Riyadh serves Afghan nationals living across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Under Mr. Abdul Basir Khroti leadership, the mission works to protect the rights of Afghan citizens, support their needs, and contribute to productive diplomatic engagement between Afghanistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
